I am extremely proud to be the new Principal of Robertsdale High School. It is truly an honor to be a part of this exciting and wonderful community. It is my greatest responsibility as principal to help support our outstanding team of teachers and to help ensure each student is successful. I cannot wait to continue to build upon the strong foundation that has already been built here. There is much to be excited about and I know that working together we can do anything we set our minds to! GO BEARS!!!!
As an educational leader, I believe successful leadership requires an individual with a strong sense of character, integrity, and the ability to manage effectively, so as to empower those who work with you. It is my goal as an educational leader to create and maintain the highest quality professional learning community possible.
I completed my Bachelors and Masters Degree at Indiana University. I began my teaching career as a middle school / high school Biology and Chemistry teacher and have been in a role as an instructional leader for the past 7 years. I completed my PhD at Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!!) My area of research is in high performing/ high poverty schools leadership. This research has confirmed for me the invaluable best practices for educational leaders and teachers that research has proven to be successful in any school setting. Education is my passion, not simply a career.
On a more personal note, I have been happily married to my wife Angela for 20 years and have two children, Sam (19) and Lilly (16).
My hobbies include competing in triathlons. I enjoy all distances, but prefer the 70.3 and the full Ironman. I completed my 3rd full Ironman race in Cozumel, Mexico in 2012.
